Corporate Social Responsibility

''We Make Living by What We Get,

We Make Life by What We Give''

                                              --  Winston Churchill

India has 55 Million widows
, equivalent to population of
California and New York state put together or equivalent to South Africa, Tanzania or South Korea.

Compare with western countries, widows in India face many difficulties and deprivations because of negative social attitude towards them and social restrictions that are placed upon them.

Many suffer abuse and exploitation at the hands of family members. Remarriage is less common and forbidden by many local cultures. Without financial security and infrastructure

India has 26 Million differently-abled population, out of this about 16 million people are unemployed, that is equivalent to entire New York State Population.

Government policies are doing their work well but it  still needs contribution from private sector.

To positively contribute to these sections
of society,  since inception, The Green Affair
has a policy of Priority Recruitment for widows
and differently abled people to give them opportunity
to join nation's workforce, provide them economic strength for
their financial independence and have healthy self image.

Contribution of these recruits has been very positive in our Collection Centers and Delivery Team.

In case, you know any widow or differently abled person who is looking for work, we will be happy to speak with them
about recruitment possibility in Green Affair Team.

Certificate in Nutrition

In last 40 years, literacy rate in India has moved from 44% to 79%.
But there is no corresponding increase in Nutrition, Health and Fitness aware in society.
Those few who are aware are either ill informed  or misinformed.

Malnutritional Fact in India (2018)
59% of Women population is Anemic (Iron Deficit)
53% of Men Population is Anemic
38% of children under 5 are stunted i.e. too short for thier age
36% of children under 5 are underweight i.e. too short for thier age
21% of children under 5 are wasted i.e. too thin for thier height
            22% suffer from Constipation
38 Million Indians affected by Protine dificiency.

This data shows there is serious problem of malnutrition in India.

This malnutrition is not just prevalent in poor section of society

but it is also experienced in middle and higher income group.

Information and awareness deficit is major cause of this malnutrition.

There is no emphasis on nutrition and health education in school / college syllabus.

To fill this gap Green Affair Foundation has drafted a course

 Certificate Course in Food Nutrition.

.

The Green Affair Foundation is on mission to spread

nutritional and health awareness  to 1 Million

through this certification course.

For this we are in discussion with School Authorities,

Regional Medical Association and

Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Why Certification

Eating is so much a part of life that we tend to assume that we know everything about food. It is generally believed that provision of proper nourishment is mainly a question of income. Since food sustains life and accounts for a major portion of our living expenses, it will be useful for everyone to know about:

  • The nutrients contained in different items of food;
  • The needs of the human body in terms of various nutrients at different stages of life;
  • Consequences of taking more/wrong types of food; and
  • Ways of selecting food articles, and the techniques for processing, cooking and preserving them.

The focus of the programme is to enable you to make the best possible choice for meeting the nutritional needs of your family. At the same time it aims at helping you choose an adequate variety of foods to suit the taste of each individual in your family. In addition, you will learn about the nature of food-borne diseases and the importance of good food habits in preventing them. You will also be acquainted with schemes of quality control, consumer rights, etc.
